The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested the shooter of Nasir gang. The arrested shooter Yusuf (42) is the cousin of North-East Delhi gangster Nasir. Yusuf, along with other gang members, had killed two members of rival gang Chennu gang in broad daylight. Yousuf has 8 serious criminal cases registered against him for murder, attempt to murder and dacoity. Police have recovered a pistol and four cartridges from it. Delhi Police was on the lookout for the shooter in the Rs 14 lakh robbery case in Civil Lines area.
According to police officials of Special Cell, Inspector Pramod Chauhan had received information about Yusuf and Akil being active in Delhi a few months back. After this, a special team of Inspector Pramod Chauhan, Inspector Shivraj Rawat and Inspector Alok Maurya was formed under the supervision of ACP Lalit Mohan Negi. It was also learned that Yusuf and Akil had committed an incident of looting Rs 14 lakh on September 6, 2022 in the Civil Lines area on the force of arms. Police arrested Akil on December 8, 22 from Nizamuddin railway station when he was about to flee to Mumbai.
Police also raided Yusuf’s village Akbarpur Gulawati, UP, but he was not found there. Yusuf was arrested from Jaffrabad on March 1 following a tip-off received by Inspector Pramod Chauhan.
Yusuf entered the world of crime 13 years ago along with cousin Nasir. It entered the world of crime in the year 2009. Nasir gang is having enmity with Chennu gang. The gang war between these two gangs has claimed many lives.
In the year 2017, Yusuf along with Nasir, Hashim alias Baba, Rashid alias Cablewala, Adil, Nadir, Badar and Salman shot dead Imran and Qamar of Chennu gang in broad daylight in Jafrabad area. In the year 2019, Yusuf got bail. The gang leader is currently in jail in the MCOCA case.
